Let’s face it, curtains are expensive. If you picked up some old sheets at a flea market or have old linens, table clothes or quilts that haven’t seen the light of day in ages, why not transform them into lovely and useful window coverings? Recycle those old linens and sheets into curtains without spending much money.

Directions:

  1. Measure the width and height of your window.
  2. Select your linen, making sure it will cover the window. Flat sheets and tablecloths are perfect for this project.
  3. Iron the sheet or linen.
  4. If you don’t already own one, purchase a decorative curtain rod with clip-on hooks.
  5. Carefully clip the linen to the hooks and hang.
  6. Use pretty ropes, ribbons, garlands or leftover lace to make decorative tie-backs.

Warning:

Exposure to sunlight can damage antique linens.
