Many newspapers provide free yard sale signs to post at the end of your street to point customers in the right direction. Post them around the neighborhood and on your house before the sale begins. If the signs are placed on busy streets, you may have customers stop by who didn’t see your ads.

  • Date and Time - Legibly write your address, date and time on the sign.
  • No Checks - If you are not going to accept checks, add that information to your sign.
  • No Early Birds - So, what is an early bird? An early bird is someone who stops by the sale before it actually begins. If you don't want early birds at your sale, add the information to your yard sale signs. That will avoid someone pounding on your door at 4 a.m.
  • Removal - When your yard sale is over, please remember to remove all posted signs.
